Westhill Bulletin Article Spring 2011

Business is booming.

Most organisations would be pleased to be able to say this.  For us it means our services are definitely needed, but it also means many in our community are in need of help and advice.

The number of client issues we have dealt with has more than doubled for each of the last 4 years and we are forecasting around 7,000 this year, based on on the actual numbers for the first 9 months of the year.

The economic climate is definitely having an effect on employment, debt and relationships.  The benefits system is more stringent and we are successfully helping people with appeals against decisions.  We are recovering £5.50 for clients, for every £1 we cost to operate.  This money is available for clients to spend in our community.

If you would like to volunteer please contact us, fully accredited training will be provided.  We currently need general advisers, debt adviser, admin assistants and receptionists.  Most volunteers give a few hours a week of their time and share the jobs on a rota basis.

If you would like to contribute by helping us to fundraise or by making a donation, please contact the office or go to the “Support Us” page on our website to see how you could help.
